Leon Scott Kennedy Infinite Darkness (RE2 Remake)

This is my rendition of Leon Kennedy from the Resident Evil game series, as seen in Infinite Darkness. For this model, I sculpted his face model (Eduard Badaluta) from RE2 Remake as well as groomed hair, brows, eyelashes and stubble. This assignment was used to introduce us to procedural texturing and how to achieve creating realistic human characters.

I enjoyed sculpting the details on his face very much as I took the time to carve out the wrinkles and pores. Grooming the hair was a therapeutic experience for me although I did experience technical errors like "culled black faces"  on the hair strands, which can be annoying as it made the hair disappear at certain angles.
Throughout the process, I also learned to use Marvelous Designer to create clothes as well as R3DSWrap to transfer my face sculpt onto a body. I personally struggled the most with Marvelous Designer and rigging because of the bugs I faced. While making the suit for my character, I constantly have to deal with intersecting cloth as well as stiffness of clothes. During rigging, I had issues with paint weights, causing limbs to bend in places they shouldn't. In the end, I decided that posing the character in Zbrush was my best option.
Character Turnaround
I would say his face has been through plenty of proportion changes over time, from having soft lumpy features to an overly chiseled jaw. Eventually like all things, we all land on the sweet spot.
